Your Complete Guide to Disneyland Theme Park Reservations

What You Need to Know First

Important: All guests ages 3 and older must have both a valid ticket AND a theme park reservation for the same park on the same date to enter. No exceptions.

Book Early: Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are limited. We strongly recommend booking immediately after purchasing your tickets.

Quick Start: Book Your Reservation in 4 Simple Steps

Step 1: Get Ready

  • Go to StartYourDisneylandExperience.com
  • Sign in to your Disney account (or create a new one)
  • Have your ticket confirmation ready

Special Note: If you booked a Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package, you’ll need to retrieve your reservation through “My Hotel Reservations” first.

Step 2: Set Up Your Party

  • Select which ticket you want to make a reservation for
  • Add all family members and friends who will be visiting

Step 3: Choose Your Experience

  • Pick your date from the available calendar
  • Choose your starting park (Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure)
  • Park Hopper ticket holders: You can visit the second park after 1:00 PM

Step 4: Confirm and Save

  • Review all your selections carefully
  • Agree to the Terms & Conditions
  • Click “Confirm” to complete your reservation
  • Save your QR code – you’ll need it for park entry!

Essential Rules and Tips

Reservation Basics

  • One reservation per person per day – no exceptions
  • Multi-day tickets require separate reservations for each day
  • Hotel stays don’t guarantee park reservations – you must book separately
  • Reservations cannot be modified – but you can cancel and rebook if availability allows

Park Hopper Guidelines

If you have Park Hopper tickets:

  • Choose which park to start your day when making your reservation
  • Visit the second park anytime after 1:00 PM (no additional reservation needed)
  • Both parks must be available on your selected date

Planning Tips

  • Check availability frequently – new reservations may be released on a rolling basis
  • Book as soon as you buy tickets – availability changes constantly
  • Have backup dates in mind when booking
  • Use the website, not the mobile app for the best experience

What to Expect on Your Visit Day

Before You Leave

  • Check your email for your confirmation and QR code
  • Screenshot or download your QR code as backup
  • Arrive early – popular reservation times fill up quickly

At the Park Gates

  • Present your QR code along with your valid ticket
  • Be prepared for health screenings including temperature checks
  • Face coverings may be required – check current guidelines

Important Health and Safety Notes

  • Health measures including temperature screenings apply
  • Face covering requirements may be in effect
  • Park capacity is limited for your safety and enjoyment
  • Some attractions, restaurants, and services may be modified or temporarily unavailable

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If You Need to Cancel or Change

  • Go to “My Theme Park Reservations” to cancel existing reservations
  • Check availability first before canceling if you want to rebook
  • Remember: You cannot modify – only cancel and create new reservations

If You Have a Vacation Package

  • Retrieve your reservation through “My Hotel Reservations” first
  • Then follow the standard reservation process
  • Contact your travel agent if you encounter issues

If You Can’t Find Availability

  • Check back regularly – new dates may become available
  • Consider different dates or parks
  • Book during off-peak times for better availability
