The world is your oyster on this townhouse-style Hyannis condominium

HYANNIS – If you’ve been wondering what the condos at 615 Main St. are like, you know where the former West End Marketplace and the infamous Guido Murphy’s are, now home to the Seaside Pub on Main and Cape Cod Harley – Davidson located retail store – read on.

The main entrance on Main Street leads you into a secure lobby, from which you will be intercomed. You climb a flight of stairs and a long, hotel-like hallway leads past the entrances to 12 units. This week’s house hunt is number 11, door on the right, and therefore, as an old radio ad from the 80s jokingly put it, all units on this side are “overlooking the lovely Dunkin ‘Donuts parking lot”.

That said, this is perhaps the trendiest place in Hyannis.

Spotlight on the apartment: you enter a wonderfully open floor plan, bathroom and laundry on the left, kitchen on the right. The kitchen is granite with a bar / breakfast nook. White shaker cabinets with brushed nickel and chic industrial-look pendant lights hang over them. These touches create an upscale atmosphere as soon as you enter.

The living space is open, with wooden floors and lots of windows to let in light. A sliding glass door from the open dining area leads to a huge deck. This is the end unit. So enjoy the fact that it has possibly the most space as this deck is the full length of the building and each unit on that side has a common portion of the deck. There’s a lot of history here – this is the same deck that was once upstairs from Guido where after a day of sun on the beach, locals and visitors came to happy hour which totally happened with guys on guitar playing music like ” Brown played “Eyed Girl” and “American Pie”.

Did we mention the townhouse style of this apartment? From the dining area a staircase leads you to the two bedrooms which share a bathroom. This apartment is so surprisingly spacious, comfortable and well equipped, no wonder the owner loved living here. While in the heart of downtown Hyannis, you feel like you’re away from it all – the best of both worlds.
