June 26, 2021 16:00

At 11:19 p.m. on June 23, 2021, Central Precinct officials responded to a shooting near Northwest 4th Avenue and Couch Street in an area of Old Town known as the entertainment district. The officers came to a chaotic scene with guests pouring from a nearby bar. The security forces in the area informed the officers that there had been a shooting in and around a nightclub in the area.

The officers entered the nightclub and found no injuries or evidence of a shooting inside the place.

Officers were able to locate and set up multiple shooting scenes that stretched from Northwest 4th and Couch to Northwest 5th and Davis. The officers seized over 28 cartridge cases of different calibers and found 8 unoccupied vehicles with bullet impacts. At the time of the shooting, an estimated 500 people were in the area.

A short time later, two adult male victims with serious but not life-threatening injuries were taken to a nearby hospital.

The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) was not available to respond to the crime scene as they investigated an independent shooting that occurred earlier that evening at the East Precinct but is being followed up on that incident.
