In Reward of Elle Fanning’s Current Purple-Carpet Fashion

We have to talk about Elle Fanning’s recent style.

Fanning has returned to the red carpet promoting the second season of her historical drama The Great. In the past, Fanning has preferred pretty pale neutrals– she seems to love pastel – but now she’s taking more risks and it pays off. With the help of her longtime stylist Samantha McMillen, Fanning’s latest looks were equally disrespectful and sublime, balancing large sculptural shapes and ornate details. It’s a little darker, a little more angular, and everything looks very, very good.

The Maleficent star started her month off with a surprisingly vampy look. At the LACMA Art + Film Gala sponsored by Gucci, she wore a partially gauzy black Gucci dress with cutouts on the sleeves and torso, double slits on the sheer skirt and an ornate purple rose on the shoulder. She continued the dark vibe with her hair styling and makeup, including black hair clips and a merlot lip.

Then came the pants that got the whole BAZAAR office talking. For a Screen Actors Guild event, the star wore a white t-shirt tucked into tan baggy pants with a corset-like waist, from both Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s favorite editorial brand. The series. Her strap sandals from Loewe had a funny detail: the heels were decorated with broken eggs, spilled egg yolks and everything else.

Fanning gave it all for the LA premiere of The Great in a bespoke Atelier Versace gown that needs inspiration based on a design by the late founder of the brand, Gianni Versace. Look carefully and you will see that the pale pink top studded with Swarovski crystals is embroidered with an image of the Russian Empress Catherine the Great – which, of course, is Fanning’s role on the show. Her dramatic full black skirt matched the black bows in her hair, and her Fred Leighton diamond earrings added some sparkle.

But the metal Balmain crop top was perhaps her best – and most daring – look yet. Fanning wore the backless piece to celebrate winning McMillen’s Stylist of the Year at this year’s InStyle Awards. It was designed by Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing and looks like two links on a gold-plated, crystal-adorned chain. You don’t need much more with a top like this: In Fanning’s case, she combined it with a simple black column skirt and a few gold rings.

Drudge Report raises eyebrows with reward of Biden’s ‘chill type,’ ‘no drama press convention’ headline

Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge showered President Biden with praise after his first formal press conference Thursday.

The popular conservative news aggregation site raised eyebrows with its distinctive headlines.

“JOE’S NO DRAMA PRESS CONFERENCE” was the top heading.

“CHILL STYLE” was the next headline, followed by “GRAND VISION FOR FDR PRESIDENCY” and “ART OF THE MÖGLICH”.

Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire responded: “The Drudge Report is now indistinguishable from the Huffington Post.”

CBN’s chief political scientist David Brody blew up the display and insisted that the Drudge report be called “The Amazing Joe Biden Report.”

“@DRUDGE has lost all credibility with the news. @JoeBiden looked lost, confused, and needed script notes for his press conference,” Brody tweeted.

Dan Gainor, vice president of the Media Research Center, had a similar reaction: “I still wonder if Drudge is sold out or just mad at the GOP. In any case, it’s worthless.”

While the Drudge report remains a giant among conservative news sites, Drudge’s coverage of President Trump has deteriorated during the last administration and became downright hostile in the 2020 campaign.

Drudge shot a not-so-subtle shot at Trump after the 2020 election by using the president’s own words against him by taking a page from his own book, “The Art of the Deal,” which President Jimmy Carter wrote after his 1980 defeat overturned Ronald Reagan.
