GREENWICH — The new season opened Sunday at the Greenwich Polo Club, with the first match of the year played on a sunny and steamy Sunday afternoon.

The 2021 season will feature action on a total of 10 Sundays this summer at the club in backcountry Greenwich.

Polo fans can enjoy eating picnics on the lawn and stomping on the divots at halftime.

Greenwich Leisure Acquires ‘Not Going Quietly’ Documentary – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE:: Greenwich Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Nicholas Bruckman‘s Don’t go quietly, with plans to release the film in theaters on August 13th.

The documentary, which won the audience award and jury recognition for Humanity in Social Action at SXSW, offers an intimate and inspiring glimpse into the life of a political activist Ady Barkan.

“If you didn’t already know that Ady Barkan is an incredible ass who has overcome all sorts of obstacles to change our democracy for the better, you’ll soon be thanking Greenwich Entertainment,” director Nicholas Bruckman said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with the passionate Greenwich team on the release of Not Going Quietly and to share Ady’s story nationwide in this profound and hopeful moment for our country.”

A progressive hero and loving father, Barkan was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 32. Despite his deteriorating physical abilities, he started a nationwide campaign for health care reform through his organization “Be A Hero”, which spoke at the 2020 Democratic National Convention and which Politico calls “the most powerful activist in America”. In Bruckman’s document, we see the chance encounter with Senator Jeff Flake on the plane that catapulted Barkan to fame, as well as his interviews with American political leaders, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren during the Democratic primary.

Not Going Quietly was directed by Amanda Roddy with executive producers Bruckman (Valley of Saints) and Ryder Haske of People’s Television, Mark and Jay Duplass (Wild Wild Country, Tangerine), Bradley Whitford (Get Out, The West Wing) and Sam Bisbee ( Produced) produces Die Trüffeljäger), Jackie Kelman Bisbee (Hearts Beat Loud), Mel Eslyn (The One I Love), Wendy Kelman Neu (Farewell Amor), Nina Tassler and Joan Boorstein from PatMa Productions. Andy Bohn from Greenwich negotiated the deal with ICM Partners on behalf of the filmmakers.

Bruckman’s Doc is slated to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June.
