Ashley Graham loves to have so many new “mom friends”.
The 33-year-old model welcomed her son Isaac into the world last January, and since then several of her model friends – including Iskra Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Karlie Kloss – have also taken in children.
Speaking of her friends, she said, “It’s amazing how many mom-friends I have now. They just showed up.
“[It’s nice to] Have friends around you who you know can call on them on a whim with a question about the baby or pregnancy world. “
But Ashley has insisted that she always ask her friends first if they want advice, knowing how irritating it can be to receive unsolicited comments from parents.
She added, E! Messages: “I always say, ‘Do you want the advice?’ There is just so much unsolicited advice that you can get when you are pregnant … you feel a little bombarded so I think the best thing you can do is talk to someone who is pregnant or just had a baby is to make sure he does I want the advice before you give it.
“Emily actually said, ‘Yeah, I want the advice, that’s why I’m talking to you.’ “”
Meanwhile, Ashley recently said she has had “a lot more peace and quiet” in her life since becoming a mother.
She explained, “I’ve had a lot more peace and quiet in my life since he’s been here because it’s like sweating the little things.”
Ashley delivered Isaac at home and then raised him for the first year of his life through the COVID-19 pandemic. Both experiences have confirmed her belief that she is a “fearless” woman.
She said, “I’ve always lived bravely and fearlessly, but my birth and upbringing in this pandemic make it, oh yeah, I think I’m pretty fearless. It just feels good.”
