Shares in AMC entertainment lashed Monday’s extended trading after the company posted a smaller-than-expected loss in the third quarter.

Here’s what the company said, relative to Wall Street expectations, based on an analyst survey by Refinitiv:

  • Loss per share: 44 cents vs. 53 cents expected
  • Revenue: Expected $ 763.2 million versus $ 708.3 million

AMC posted a net loss of $ 224.2 million, or 44 cents per share, for the third quarter. That loss is well below the $ 905.8 million, or $ 8.41 per share, that they lost in the year-ago period. According to Refinitiv, analysts had expected a loss of 53 cents per share.

The cinema chain reported revenue of $ 763.2 million, surpassing the $ 708.3 million analyst had expected.

The company’s shares initially rose after the results were released. However, as of 5:20 p.m. ET, shares were down 4.3%. AMC stock was the focus of this year’s meme stock frenzy, rising more than 2.025% in 2021.

AMC said all of its domestic cinemas were open on September 30th, as was 99% of its international theaters. The cinema chain found that it welcomed 40 million guests again in the US, Europe and the Middle East in the third quarter thanks to new blockbuster titles and rising vaccination rates.

During the quarter, the company posted entry revenue to $ 425.1 million from $ 62.9 million in the year-ago period. Food and beverage sales also rose to $ 265.2 million from just $ 29.1 million year over year.

Still, AMC’s operating expenses exceeded revenue, causing the company to post a loss for the quarter.

“Our financial results continue to improve,” said CEO Adam Aron in a statement on Monday. “You can see and feel that our industry and our company are on the way to recovery and improvement. That is why we are optimistic.”

“However, despite this good news, we are still not where we want and need to be,” he said. “We would like to emphasize that nobody should be under the illusion that there are not more challenges ahead of us. The virus continues to accompany us, we have to sell more tickets in the coming quarters than in the previous quarters. “Quarter, and the adjusted EBITDA is still well below the level before the pandemic.”

At the end of the third quarter, AMC had more than $ 1.8 billion in liquidity, including cash and undrawn revolving credit lines. Aron said the company doesn’t expect to have to borrow under these lines of credit in the next 12 months.

This liquidity has allowed AMC to explore and integrate new revenue streams. The company has already acquired new theater rentals, started offering new content such as concerts and sporting events, and it expands into popcorn retail.

Winnie Harlow loves wearing wigs to express her different styles.

The 26 year old model’s career means changing her look forever, so wearing a hairpiece is the best way for her to change her hair while protecting her natural curls.

Speaking to Us Weekly, she said, “The ability to change my hair all the time is a big part of my life because I never get bored.

“I experience so many different looks and try new things and I think that’s what life is all about … I like to wear wigs so I can achieve all the looks my career brings, expressing different styles and mine at the same time can protect natural hair. “

Winnie recently announced that she is excited to see New York Fashion Week return in September and she can’t wait to see “Making The Cut” co-star Jeremy Scott on Moschino.

She said, “I’m going for Jeremy. Everything stopped and it was nice to take a breather, but we’re ready to get back into the flow.”

That’s leisure! ‘Tables and Spreads’ make it simple to be a star party-planner

½ Tasse gefrorene Erbsen (60 Gramm)

1 Karotte, in dünne Scheiben geschnitten

3 Esslöffel Tamari oder Sojasauce

1 Esslöffel Tahin

1 Esslöffel Honig

2 Teelöffel Chili-Knoblauch-Sauce

1 Teelöffel Reisessig

1 Knoblauchzehe, gehackt

1 Limette, in Scheiben geschnitten

The Nordic Leisure Group (STO:NENT B) Share Value Is Up 29% And Shareholders Are Holding On

We believe that investing is smart because history shows that stock markets will rise over the long term. However, if you do choose to buy stocks, some of them will underperform. For example the Nordic Entertainment Group AB (public) (STO: NENT B) the stock price has risen over the past year, but its 29% increase is below the market return. Nordic Entertainment Group hasn’t been on the list for long so it’s not yet clear if it’s a long-term winner.

Check out our latest analysis for Nordic Entertainment Group

In his essay, The Superinvestors of Graham-and-Doddsville, Warren Buffett described that stock prices do not always rationally reflect the value of a company. A flawed but sane way of assessing how sentiment has changed around a company is to compare earnings per share (EPS) to its share price.

The Nordic Entertainment Group had really great EPS growth last year. This remarkable rate of growth, while unsustainable, is impressive nonetheless. We are not surprised that the share price has risen. Turning points like this are the best times for us to take a closer look at a stock.

Below you can see how EPS has changed over time (you can find out the exact values by clicking on the picture).

OM: NENT B earnings per share growth July 8, 2021

We like that insiders have bought stocks in the past twelve months. Even so, future profits will be far more important to whether current shareholders make money. These free interactive report about the Nordic Entertainment Group Earnings, sales and cash flow is a great place to start if you want to further investigate the inventory.

Another perspective

Nordic Entertainment Group’s shareholders gained 29% over the course of the year. While it’s always nice to make a profit on the stock market, we find that the TSR was no better than the general market return of around 48%. The last three months have not been so friendly for the Nordic Entertainment Group, the share price only increased by 4.0%. It’s not uncommon to see a company’s stock price between updates to shareholders. I find it very interesting to look at the share price as a proxy for business development over the long term. But to really gain insight we need to consider other information as well. Take risks, for example – the Nordic Entertainment Group has 4 warning signs (and 2 who don’t sit well with us) We think you should know.
