Tara’s Model Take: VIZCAYA BALL

Tara’s Style Take: VIZCAYA BALL

On the stage for SocialMiami, this insider brings us the best in style from this sold-out occasion.

The annual fundraiser at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens‘Miami’s 1914 Grande Dame was themed after Truman Capote’s headline-grabbing Black and White bal masque,’ held at The Plaza in 1966. And was as popular as Capote’s party. Only the fastest philanthropists and luxury brands could buy tables – Chanel and Fendi, among the lucky ones. The Vizcaya Ball found the same wish of its guests to wear only two colors on Saturday evening of November 20th – just eight days before Capote’s dance, 55 years earlier – to wear only two colors: black and white.

The dream of every style philosopher, the black or white dress code has been translated in every imaginable way by the smart set. At the head of the glamor train were the impeccable co-chairs of the ball Jenny Try and Christy Martin, custom-made by Gucci and jeweled Balmain. Jenni, who gave copies of the bestseller “Party of the Century” from 2006 by Deborah Davis at the last planning session of the ball (so clever!), Dressed her black Gucci dress with an empire waist and white crystals with chic Gucci gloves ( Feathers AND crystals!) And a custom mask. Christy, the Miami-based version of Babe Paley, Capote’s ultimate swan, wore hundreds, perhaps thousands, of carats of glittering body jewelry of Maria Elena headgear over her seductive white sequined Balmain gown with a plunging cleavage.

Laurie Jennings and Joshua Salmon

Annette Prats

The cocktail hour in the limestone-paved inner courtyard of the Grande Dame provided an incomparable swan view, while larger-than-life fashion statements vied for attention. Outstanding looks included Laurie Jennings, the glamorous presenter of the evening who wore her grandmother’s black ostrich feather stole and family jewels with a delicate and figure-hugging black illusion lace gown from Saks Fifth Avenue that was perfect with just a touch of Edwardian vibe. Laurie’s husband, Joshua SalmanHe paired his white tie and vest with a black suit and black and white spit-influenced shoes.

Marile Lopez, always an eye-catcher, was a vision in an ethereal cloud of black tulle frills. Carly Patterson shot a Jessica Rabbit in a sexy black strapless dress with a thigh-high slit by Moda Glam. Annette Pratt rocked white rococo wearable art that was just as gorgeous as the ball decorations that were custom made for her in LA. Celebrities and patrons of the arts Petra Levin enthusiastic in a sleek white Tom Ford overall, accompanied by Cal Campos, a Tom Ford fashion and beauty stylist wearing the Tom Ford graphic black and white Atticus cocktail jacket.

Victor A Diaz and Jose Aguilera

If there was an award for the best couple ensemble, it would go to the interior designer Victor Diaz and José Aguilera, an industrial and organizational physiologist whose looks – including ornate Giorgio Armani tuxedos and custom feather capes that lasted 12 weeks – were so complex that they got dressed at 10 a.m. and wrapped up at 4:30 p.m. in time for a photo shoot before going were driven to the ball in their brand-typical drive: A vintage Bentley from the 1960s.

Nick D’Annunzio and Danny Jelaca

The strangest trend of the night? Full-headed young men with dyed gray hair channeling their inner silver foxes as seen in Mr. D ‘aka my husband, Nick D’Annunzio, and hood king Danny jelaca, looks neat in a velvety paisley tuxedo from Stitched and a white Dolce & Gabbana suit.

Dinner was served outdoors, under a tent in front of the famous Vizcaya Barge, over which crystal chandeliers dangled. Shortly after the Caesar salad course was served, the sky opened and the rain pelted down, the wind stormed, the plastic panels around the tent protected us from a tropical storm – this reminded us of Miranda Priestly’s ingenious line in “The Devil Wears Prada, “when all Miami flights were canceled due to a hurricane:” Call Donatella. Get your jet. Call everyone else we know has a jet. “

So here we have Bubbles on the right hand side hitting his chest before Goku thought it would be a good idea to immediately transfer a self-destructive cell to King Kai’s planet. After that, this little monkey would start rocking a halo.

Well … while we’re talking about rocking something, take a look at Krillin who absolutely rocks Piccolo’s outfit. It’s not just the cape. From headgear to shoes to Gi – Krillin really bites Piccolo’s style! Krillin arrives in this guise in the Dragon Ball Z movie Broly: Second Coming to surprise the audience for a moment. I swear these DBZ films love their opening scenes. It can be bizarre storytelling that Akira Toriyama myself would have avoided it, but it’s a memorable moment for krillin and a pretty cool card.

Stay tuned for more previews of Dragon Ball Super Card Game: Unison Warrior Series BOOST – Saiyan Showdown. When the set releases in November 2021, Bleeding Cool readers can also expect openings and product reviews.

Circle Metropolis Wiffle Ball All-Star Evening raises cash for childhood most cancers fund – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana Climate

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – When Brendan Dudas first decided to do the Circle City Wiffle Ball League, it was just a way to keep in touch with some of his childhood friends.

In middle school, he invited friends to play in his parents’ garden.

Now, a few years later, his league has eight teams, sponsors, and the same field he grew up in is now called “The Dirtyard,” which has come to be known as one of the best in the country for the sport. During the season they compete against each other until they crown a league champion, but what Dudas can look forward to the most is what happens shortly afterwards.

They’ve been watching the league since 2014 All-star night grow with the thing behind it: “Wifflin ‘For Whitley”.

The fundraiser is named after Dudas’ niece, who died in 2015 fighting a rare form of brain tumor called DIPG. All of the money they raise at the event goes towards research and projects allocated to the Whitley’s Wishes Fund. Dudas says it is a way to make people aware of cancer while keeping their memories alive.

He says there were 18 people in attendance on their first All-Star Night in 2014, but in seven years he has seen support for the event and cause grow significantly.

“Now people are lining the fence with fireworks,” said Dudas. “It’s wonderful. I can’t put into words what it means, and it’s on the back of everyone in the community and all of the players who come here and really care about what we do.”

Check out the videos to learn more from Dudas and League Deputy Commissioner Rudy Lyon, who also got to test some of his best pitches at News 8’s Randall Newsome.

Cattlemen’s Ball raises cash to battle most cancers

If you can have fun and raise money for a good cause at the same time, this is a successful fundraiser. Since 1998, the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska has achieved these goals, raising nearly $ 15 million to aid cancer research.

In fact, 90% of the annual revenue raised is donated directly to the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, which is specifically used for cutting-edge cancer research. The remaining 10% of the funds will be returned to local communities to support health organizations and initiatives in the region.

This year the Cattlemen’s Ball will be held at the Scott and Patricia Mueller farm in Columbus, Neb. The Muellers are into beef – and are busy with a cow and calf farm, feedlot, grain, feed sale, commodity trading, and other process verified program, Samson LLC. Her two sons Jordan and Brandon were also involved in planning this year’s ball.

Ball activities start on June 4th with a golf tournament at Elks Country Club. Later in the afternoon, well into the evening, there is a silent auction, along with health and wellness screenings, a general store, and a history tent. There’s a Trail Boss reception, a wine and art tent, and a live auction on Friday nights, topped off with a concert by Tracy Byrd.

Activities on Saturday June 5th begin with the Nebraska Rawhide Run on Lake North. In the morning there is a Trail Boss champagne brunch and the opening of a silent auction. The full line-up on Saturday includes a wine tasting, Nebraska Bush Pullers, Trail Boss lunch, style show, beef experience, and a farm and ranch auction that includes a prime rib dinner, a live auction , a truck raffle and an evening program. Eastin Corbin takes the stage for his concert that evening, followed by the Side Step Band.

COVID-19 canceled the 2020 Cattlemen’s Ball, but it was last hosted by Wayne and Chris Krausnick in Wauneta in 2019, and the event raised a total of $ 673,739.

Over the years the ball has been loved by families in Hebron, Anselmo, Princeton, Lynch, Harrisburg, Sutherland, McCool Junction, West Point, Kearney, Doniphan, Albion, Lodgepole, Milford, Wisner, Brady, Ashland, Valparaiso, Valentine, and Arthur Lexington, in addition to the 1998 opening in Ainsworth and 2019 in Wauneta.

Dakota Johnson compares her night fashion to a disco ball | Leisure

Dakota Johnson dresses like a “disco ball” at night.

Actress ‘Fifty Shades of Gray’ has revealed that all of her outfit choices are inspired by the mood boards she creates.

Speaking to Kate Young about the latest episode of her YouTube series ‘Hello Fashion’, she said, “I love mood boards. I use them for clothes, for emotions and for meals.

“Moodboards are like playlists for physical things.”

Regarding the differences between her ensembles from day to night, she added: “I am definitely a disco ball. I’m just a normal ball during the day and just a disco ball at night. “

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the ‘High Note’ star has taken her relationship with Chris Martin to a new level as the two now live together.

The Coldplay front man and 31-year-old star have made the “yellow” hitmaker’s Malibu mansion their home since he bought the property in October.

A source said in February, “Chris has always been a huge Malibu fan. He loves the beach and often goes surfing and running.”

The insider added that Dakota “seemed more like a town girl” until she met Chris, 43, and started dating the musician in 2017, claiming the star had adopted her new lifestyle.

The source added, “She seems to be enjoying it as much as Chris. They both love the outdoors and often take beach walks. They also support local restaurants.”

It was also revealed that Chris and Dakota often travel to Los Angeles for Sunday lunch with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares children Apple, 16, and Moses, 14, and their husband Brad Falchuk.

The insider said, “It is obvious that everyone is still getting along well.”
