Alec Baldwin fires prop gun on film set, killing crew member

Actor Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun at a film set on Thursday, killing the film’s cameraman and injuring its director, police said

Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of Rust, a western filmed at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Joel Souza, 48, was injured, including the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office communicated.

Hutchins was helicoptered to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Souza was taken to the Christ St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for treatment for his injuries.

The circumstances of the shooting are being investigated. No charges were brought.

“Tonight we received the devastating news that one of our members, Halyna Hutchins, director of photography for a production called ‘Rust’ in New Mexico, died of injuries sustained on set,” said John Lindley, president of International Cinematographers Guild and Rebecca Rhine, the managing director, in a statement on diversity.

“The details are currently unclear, but we are working to find out more and we support a full investigation into this tragic event,” the statement said. “This is a terrible loss and we mourn a member of our guild family.”

Hutchins graduated from the American Film Institute in 2015. She was involved in several short films before working on Archenemy, a 2020 feature film starring Joe Manganiello.

Born in Ukraine, she has a degree in international journalism from Kyiv National University and previously worked as an investigative journalist for British documentary productions in Europe.

In 2019 she was selected as one of the American Cinematographer’s Emerging Stars.

Hutchin’s death commemorates actor Brandon Lee, son of martial arts film legend Bruce Lee. Brandon Lee died after being shot by a prop gun while filming The Crow in 1993.

“There was an accident on the New Mexico set of Rust today that involved the misfiring of a prop gun with blanks,” a Baldwin spokesman said in a statement to NBC News. “Production has been suspended for the time being. The safety of our actors and crew remains our top priority.”

Baldwin, 63, co-produces Rust and plays the infamous outlaw Harland Rust, whose 13-year-old grandson was convicted of accidental murder. Rust travels to Kansas to free his grandson from prison, and the two fugitives must escape US Marshal Wood Helm and bounty hunter Fenton “Preacher” Lang.

Baldwin posted a photo of himself in costume for the film on Instagram early Thursday, complete with fake blood on his shirt.

Most recently known as President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live and starring in the NBC comedy 30 Rock, Baldwin has won multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards and was nominated for an Oscar and a Tony Award.

Baldwin has hosted “SNL” 17 times, more than any other person, and has starred in such films as “The Departed”, “Glengarry Glen Ross” and the Mission Impossible franchise. He was also the producer of director Souza’s film “Crown Vic”.

Baldwin has lost his temper in the past, including incidents that led to his arrest. In 2019, he pleaded guilty to molesting another person in connection with a parking lot dispute in Manhattan in November 2018.

He was previously arrested by the police for ridden his bike incorrectly and for misconduct after allegedly quarreling with the police who stopped him.

Baldwin was also acquitted of battery crimes charges after he was accused of beating a freelance photographer and breaking the lens man’s nose in 1995 in California.

The actor is married to Hilaria Baldwin and has six children together. He also has a daughter named Ireland from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.

Hilaria Baldwin thinks of the infants she misplaced every day | Leisure

Hilaria Baldwin thinks about the babies she lost “every day”.

The 37-year-old star shared the devastating miscarriages in 2019, admitting that she thinks about the children she tragically lost every day in a post for Infertility Awareness Week.

In an emotional post she wrote: “It’s #infertilityawarenessweek … and although I am so blessed to have my babies, I also have a couple of angels. I had two miscarriages in a row in 2019 – the second when I was 4 months old. I was told , “It’s just bad luck” … there are so many puzzles as to why certain souls come into our lives and others do not … A year after their birth, my Edu and Lucia are constant companions, but I think of the babies who I have lost every day. Resigned and respectful of how my life has developed. Gratitude and sadness, wholeness and longing are the dualities of my reality. (sic) “

And Hilaria – who has Carmen, seven, Rafael, five, Leonardo, four, Romeo, two, Eduardo, eight months and the newborn Lucia with her husband Alec Baldwin – insists that she care for the children she has lost ” just as a mother “is.

In an open post on Instagram, she wrote, “We all have different fertility / infertility histories and there are so many ways to become parents. Being a parent really means taking care of another soul in the deepest possible way … through this giving energy that we nourish ourselves and fill the world with love. I am as much a mother to my angel babies as I am to those I can physically hold in my arms. If you have fought, or have fought – or will fight, you know that you are not alone … if it serves you, connect with others while you are grieving. We are a mighty bunch that carries this heaviness in our hearts – and together we can relieve each other through support and understanding. (sic ) “

Hilaria Baldwin misses the daughter she misplaced in her miscarriage | Leisure

Hilaria Baldwin misses the daughter she lost before welcoming her two youngest children.

The 37-year-old health and wellness professional is a mother of six children – Carmen, seven, Rafael, five, Leonardo, four, Romeo, two, Eduardo, seven months and Lucia, six weeks – but suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2019 when she was a lost little girl, she was 16 weeks pregnant.

And now Hilaria – who has her children with her husband Alec Baldwin – has said that she misses her unborn baby every day, but still “thank you [her] Lucky stars ”that she was able to welcome Eduardo and Lucia after the tragedy.

In her Instagram story, she wrote: “Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her older sister, who we lost when we were 16 weeks old. Also, not a day goes by when I don’t thank my lucky stars that I have Eduardo Pau and Maria Lucia.

“The fact that these two feelings can exist simultaneously and so intensely in their polarity in me impresses me.”

Hilaria went on to share videos and photos of her “rainbow babies”.

She added, “My heart grew to love you all so much.”

The wellness guru and Alec greeted Lucia through a surrogate mother, and Hilaria previously said she felt so “lucky” to have more children after her miscarriage.

She said, “Our hearts are full of gratitude. The Baldwinitos longed so much for a little sister.

“Many of you may remember the loss of your sister at the age of 4 months at the end of 2019. Not a day goes by without our daughter causing pain. When I found out our baby had died, I told our children that their sister was coming, just not at that time. Nothing will ever replace them, but two wonderful souls have come into our lives and we are humble to know them.

“Our children have been brave in our time of tremendous sorrow – braver than us … and they have raised hope. Experiencing and accepting the ebb and flow of life is a challenge, but a reality that we all cannot help but receive and process. I learned that our children are often smarter than us and that their wisdom has guided us.

“Our rainbow baby Edu is such a blessing – we are overwhelmed by how lucky we are to have him. We live every day, connected and grateful for all the very special angels who helped bring Lucía into the world.

“María Lucía Victoria and Eduardo Pau Lucas: our babies who bring light into our lives – almost like twins, we love you so much. (sic) ”
