Native pet enterprise elevating cash for LPD Ok-9 Unit

The event raised $ 2,500 for our Lincoln canine officers!

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Bailey’s Deluxe Pet Grooming A dog wash fundraiser was held on Sunday that raised over $ 2,500 for the Lincoln Police Department’s K-9 unit.

Dozens of dogs, big and small, gathered at the pet store near 27th and Highway 2 to clean their coats and cut their nails. Bailey raised money for the LPD K-9 unit to help them buy new and safer equipment for our canine officers, dogs that are almost 100% funded by donations.

“When they talked about the need for and upgrading their equipment, the canine officers will be safer, upgrading that equipment that we really care about,” said Keith Pytlik, co-owner of Bailey’s.

For the pet business, running this fundraiser was a top priority no matter what the weather was for our furry friends who are making our community a better place.

“Well, the dogs don’t have a day off because of the rain, rain or shine, we will prevail and collect money for them,” said Pytlik.

The goal was to wash as many dogs as possible and raise as much money as possible, and that is exactly what they did. The event raised $ 2,500 for our local canine officers.
