LONGMEADOW, Massachusetts (WWLP) – Two alumni of Longmeadow High School turned their passion for classic car shows into a fundraiser for an important cause.
The intense rain on Sunday morning didn’t discourage the sponsors of the 3rd annual Cars of Longmeadow show in the high school parking lot. Despite the adverse weather, Richard Norman from Longmeadow was among the visitors to the Lupus Research Alliance Find a cure for the dreaded inflammation that mainly affects women.

“We have come to support this cause. The exploration of lupus and we are kind of fans of the car show too. A little bit of everything for us today, ”said Norman.
“Max and I love cars and wanted to do something local,” said Wesley Breed, co-organizer of the event.
During the first two years of their auto show when it was not raining, attendees donated $ 24,000 to lupus research, far more than was donated on Sunday for the rain. You can help make up the difference by going donate for lupus research.
