NAMED: Kathryn Fried from Ashland was added to the list of deans for the fall semester at the University of Delaware at Newark. To qualify for the list, full-time students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or more on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

BAPTISM: Barrett Elkins, born October 3, 2017, and Berkley Elkins, born December 3, 2019, by Nick and Allison Elkins were baptized at Kenova United Methodist Church on December 20. They are grandsons of Richard and Stephanie Elkins and great grandsons of Pat Cornwell. May these little fellows walk with the Lord and never deviate from His ways.

FIRST: This Tuesday, February 9th, marks the first year that Garnet Bryant celebrates her wedding anniversary without her husband, Bob Bryant, who died in November. They were married for over 45 years that day. May Garnet be comforted to know that thoughts and prayers are with her during this memory and time of sorrow.

PROMOTION: Marilyn E. Kearns, a graduate of Wahama High School, has been promoted to Senior Vice President Human Resources of Ohio Valley Bank and Vice President of Ohio Valley Banc Corp. promoted. She started at the bank in 1996 as a payroll clerk and secretary. She also graduated from the Ohio Bankers League’s Bank Leadership Institute and the Graduate School of Banking-Human Resources Management at the University of Wisconsin. As a former student of the year in the OVB training program, she has also received certificates and awards.
