The Anacortes Waterfront Festival 2021 has been canceled according to a press release.

“This week, the Anacortes Chamber Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders, city officials and Anacortes Waterfront Festival stakeholders, met with Chamber staff to discuss the potential of hosting the festival in 2021,” the press release said.

“The group discussed broad epidemiological projections, the safety of our community, volunteers, and incoming guests, and the overall operational ability to host an event without knowing where our region is on the roadmap to a healthy Washington recovery in June. “

The board then decided to cancel the festival according to the publication.

“It was an incredibly difficult decision given the economic impact festivals like this have on our city, but security concerns were our top priority,” said CEO Gina Walsh. “We plan for 2022 and we will use all of our creative energy to bring this event back better than ever.”

The two-day festival, usually held in early June, features dozens of grocery vendors, children’s events, live music, and plenty of exhibits and stalls where you can learn more about the waterfront and the environment.
