NENT Studios UK, who is behind the Connie Nielsen and Christopher Eccleston drama from Viaplay / Channel 4 Close To Me up for sale last November, just over a year after the production and sales business was established.
NENT Studios UK was formerly known as DRG and has a catalog of over 10,000 hours of content. It takes care of selling shows like Doc Martin, Catchphrase, and Don’t Tell the Bride. The company is led by Richard Halliwell and integrated into All3Media International.
Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, said, “There has never been so much demand for high quality IP and we all look forward to working closely with the producers of these shows.” Louise Pedersen, CEO of All3Media International added: ” With over 10,000 hours of content and some fantastic internationally known programs, this catalog will be an excellent and complementary addition to our library. “
In addition to Close To Me, NENT Studios UK announced last year that another series is fully funded and is about to launch. It added that it had 15 projects in paid development and an internal list of 40 other shows.
Nordic Entertainment Group, along with a number of other production companies, are selling NENT Studios UK as they focus on growing their Viaplay streamer.
