The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are known for their fashion, so Crystal Kung Minkoff knew she needed to improve her style when she went on the show.
The season 11 novice entrusted a trio of professionals – a stylist and a blogger Andrea Lublin by Andreas Lookbook, Hairstylist Jessica Rose Gordon-Carson and make-up artist Deanna Marchese – to get them ready to hold that diamond.
“I’ve never used a stylist before. I’ve never needed one, ”Minkoff, 35, told Page Six Style in a recent interview ahead of the season premiere on Wednesday.
“So me when I called [Lublin], she says: ‘Of course I will help you.’ Our children went to kindergarten and elementary school together, so we already had a special friendship. She really knows my style and really helped me move up and stayed true to me. “
Minkoff said comfort is a top priority for her “housewife” wardrobe.
“The first time she sent me something, I thought, ‘Ugh. That doesn’t feel good. ‘ She says: ‘This is fashion!’ “

The star has similar personal connections with the rest of her glam team; she grew up with Gordon-Carson and met Marchese at the “Lion King” premiere (the Husband, Rob Minkoff, directed the 2019 Disney flick).
“I just said, ‘Look, I’m just going to be a coat hanger, a mannequin. You do what you want and I’ll rock it as best as I can, ‘”Minkoff recalled her conversations with the trio. “And it was really so much fun.”
The star pointed to the submerging LBD in the trailer for season 11 of the series as one of her favorite looks from the filming – and although this dress required tons of duct tape, she said that being a “RHOBH” newbie, she actually didn’t take a lot of style risks.
“Party outside. Blue painter’s tape on the inside, ”joked Crystal Kung Minkoff on Instagram about the sexy LBD she wore in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.Instagram
“That’s how boring I am: I had my hair in a high ponytail with extensions [for a scene], and I think, first of all, I never wear my hair in a high ponytail. Second, I used extensions. For me it’s the most extreme thing I could do! ”Minkoff joked.
And while she added that she’ll be “back in a sweat” after filming is over, the rest of the cast continues to set the bar high in the style department.
“I see the girls now that we’re not filming, and they’re definitely still in the glamor,” Minkoff said. “I mean, more power for them. I can not.”
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
